What is the CRM Exercise?

This is an opportunity for you to observe, analyze, and debrief crew member actions from a video scenario. You will be asked to identify:

Scenario: EGPWS / Reno Approach

“The CRM video was a EGPWS event into Reno. Very obvious what went wrong and how it could have been avoided. Just state the facts.”

Scenario: Unstable Approach

“Watched CRM video where CA was fast and unstable on approach, ignoring go-around calls. I discussed that the FO should have been more specific and taken action.”

Scenario: Missed Checklist

“Captain wasn’t referring to checklist, didn’t get gear or flaps. FO was making calls but didn’t verify steps. I said I would repeat calls or accomplish steps myself and debrief later.”

Debrief Strategy

“I debriefed it like I was a check airman. Started with safety of flight issues first (interviewer liked this), then covered what went well and what went bad.”
